New Director for Columbia River Crossing

The Columbian – April 5, 2011

Washington state transportation officials have appointed a new director of the Columbia River Crossing in Vancouver. Transportation Secretary Paula Hammond appointed transportation veteran Nancy Boyd, who formerly served as deputy state design engineer, to the position. Boyd began her career with WSDOT 20 years ago, and her responsibilities have included many significant assignments including representing the transportation department on Gov. Chris Gregoire’s climate-action team.

Boyd will manage the proposed $3.6 billion project which is scheduled to begin construction in 2013. She replaces Don Wagner, who was temporarily named to the Crossing job in January 2010. As a result of last week’s appointment, Wagner returned to his position as the Washington Department of Transportation regional administrator in Orchards.  The Tom Warne Report
